Minotaur, who have published the first three Korolev books in the US, have been very generous, yet again, with hardback copies of THE TWELFTH DEPARTMENT – too generous perhaps as I seem to have boxes of books going back to THE HOLY THIEF piled up in my study and there really isn’t room for them. Which means it’s time for a competition. Sadly, I’m going to have to limit hardback prizes to Europe and the UK – as otherwise the postal charges are prohibitive – but I could be persuaded to send a paperback of THE HOLY THIEF or THE DARKENING FIELD (aka THE BLOODY MEADOW) a bit further. Particularly if you come up with a good entry.
In order to win, please email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) or post here one, or all if you want, of the following: (a) a Russian joke, (b) a Russian proverb or (c) a story about a real event (with a Russian connection) that happened to you or someone you know. There will be extra points for Soviet era entries, but all attempts will go in my hat – from which I’ll pluck at least five lucky winners on September 15th.
